Steep yourself in Chinese tea drinking tradition with this disc of compressed high quality 2007 vintage unfermented Pu-er leaves. With extended aging comes a deep and rich flavour, with hints of leather and wood.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Deep and layered, with aged notes of dried fruit, leather, and camphor. Subtle hints of tobacco leaf, forest floor, and old wood emerge, offering a warm and mature bouquet.

Flavor: Smooth, rounded, and complex. Earthy with notes of dried apricot, aged plum, and sweet hay. The bitterness of younger sheng has mellowed, revealing a well-balanced cup with hints of spice, dried herbs, and a light smokiness.

Finish: Long and evolving, with a soft, cooling sensation and lingering sweetness (hui gan). A gentle dryness may remain on the tongue, paired with a pleasant aftertaste of camphor and aged wood.

Use a small sharp pick to loosen the tea leaves from the disc. Loosen just the amount of leaves you want.

In a small teapot, steep for 30 seconds if you like your tea quite light and up to 1 minute if you prefer something stronger. The bigger your teapot, the longer the steeping time.

In a normal sized mug (approximately 250ml), steeping time should be between 2 to 3 minutes.

If you brew your tea in a convenience cup, do not throw the leaves away after 1 round. Good tea leaves are good for 3 rounds. You may want to steep the leaves slightly longer with each subsequent round.
